About Chad

I’m Chad and I’m just a small town guy who is in the process of breaking free from the golden handcuffs of a very real, very good day job.  Wait!  Very good job?  Then, why break free?  It’s not that I dislike my day job — honestly, I don’t.  It’s actually pretty great and I even like my co-workers (unlike many people who are stuck 8 hours a day with a bunch of jerks)!  The deal is simple:  I’m just ready to break free from the $15.99 piece of plastic on my nightstand called an alarm clock.  I desperately long for time freedom and financial security.  I want to live life on my schedule and on my terms.  The only difference between me and everyone else who wants the same thing is that I’m not just giving it lip service.  I’m actually on a very specific mission to do something about it!

The Top 6 Things You Might Want to Know About Me

I’m a:  Pharmacist.  Entrepreneur.  Educator.  Blogger.  Passive Income Fanboy and Follow Up Hacker.

The day job!  Plain and simple, I really love being a pharmacist.  However,  I knew when I started Pharmacy School it would never be enough on its own to fulfill me.  Why?  Well, in addition to being a total science geek, I’m an educator, entrepreneur, writer, and creative type at heart.  I have a diverse range of interests in both the sciences and the arts.  In fact, very few people know this, but in my first year of college I took a career exam which showed my interests were split 50:50 between the sciences and the arts!  I chose science for my career path to satisfy my left brain, but knew full well that my right brain would require fulfillment from my more creative endeavors.

It’s no surprise that I’ve always loved teaching.  My mom was a teacher her entire career — which also happens to be the reason I was strongly discouraged from being a teacher!  Weird, huh?  Education changed significantly over the years and my mom knew it would be a tumultuous field to pursue:  unruly students, difficult parents, standardized testing, violence in the classroom, etc…  Although, she discouraged me from pursuing a full time teaching job, she strongly encouraged me to find other ways to teach once I finished my degree in pharmacy — which is exactly what I did.  I have a pretty cool and pretty smart mom!  I’ve since taught at the college, community, and corporate levels and loved every minute of it!  I continue to speak for audiences nationwide.  One of my favorite things ever is to see “the lightbulb” come on for people — that’s what education is all about, and that is what always has been and always will be near and dear to my heart!

I’ve been entrepreneurial since I was a child.  It’s a very innate passion that I really can’t explain.  It feels comfortable, exciting, and freeing most days, but scary as hell other days.

To me, owning your own business just makes perfect sense.  So, since I’m a pharmacist, people often ask why not just open my own pharmacy?  Seems logical, right?  There are lots of reasons, but one reason (for me) trumps all others:  Retail pharmacy is not my true love.  Who wants to do something every day that they aren’t passionate about?  I’m actually a pharmacist in a hospital (and love that), but it’s not likely that I’m going to be owning a hospital anytime soon!  Therefore, I’m following a different, yet well plotted path.

Probably the biggest reason I’m a fan of being an entrepreneur is that there is no such thing as job security.  When you work for someone else, you become completely dependent upon that person or company.  If the company goes under, so do you.  If you get a boss who doesn’t like you, suddenly your life sucks.  If your company decides to go through layoffs, you get to stress and wonder if you will be the next to go — which is a horrid feeling, especially right around the holidays (trust me).  Owning your own business puts the power back into your hands.  You get to make the rules.  You get to be responsible for yourself and the harder and smarter you work, the more you’ll see your efforts rewarded.

I love to write, but never did much actual writing until I decided to get serious about my blog:  The Real Prescription for Success!  I get to cuss and discuss my views on success, following up, choices, passive income, etc …  It’s a well rounded blend of education, information, inspiration, and motivation.

Passive Income Fanboy

Maybe this is kind of a big “duh” and I shouldn’t even list it here, but I love, love, love passive income!  From the first time I understood what it was, I was hooked.  Work hard once and get paid for it multiple times.  Who wouldn’t love that?

Follow Up Hacker

I’m awesome at following through, but I’ve always sucked at following up.  Not exactly a great quality in an entrepreneur!  It’s an obstacle I’ve had to overcome and in doing so has resulted in a pretty amazing system that I use  to make following up super easy, relatively painless, and essentially effortless.  If you are going to be successful and play big in building your business, there really is no way to get around following up with prospects and clients.  As cliché as it sounds, the fortune really is in the follow up!  I show entrepreneurs how to tap into that fortune with my quick and easy follow up hacks.

My ultimate goal is to provide you with high quality and high value education, information, resources, tools, and opportunities through some pretty cool, innovative, and interactive platforms.

Thanks for stopping by, checking out the site, and joining me on this amazing journey!
